Community Services Group (CSG) is recruiting for a Mental Health Professional (Therapist) for our Chariots CRR Host Home Foster Care Program in Dauphin County.

The Mental Health Professional will be responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to individuals and their families.  This position will participate actively in all relevant team, supervision, and general staff meetings, to enhance the services of Community Services Group.

This is a full-time position (40 hrs/wk) with Monday to Friday hours from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.  This schedule will vary based on the needs of the individuals and program.  It will be based out of our Harrisburg office and cover cases in Dauphin and surrounding counties as needed.  Rotating on call is required.  A complete Medical Insurance and Benefits Package is available for those who qualify!  Company vehicle and/or travel compensation provided for work related travel. 

Core Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides treatment services to families including therapy, skills training, and education designed to enable families to care for their mentally ill or emotionally disturbed children in the home
  • Works closely with other mental health specialists, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, case managers, psychiatric nurses, school counselors, and behavioral health providers.
  • Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services in accordance with standards applicable to mental health professionals.
  • Provide individual, family and/or group counseling services to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Adheres to and upholds the ethical standards of the profession.
  • Documents work in accordance with company standards in the areas of diagnostic evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge procedures, and other consumer related activities.
  • Participates in education and other activities necessary to maintain competency in clinical work.
  • Provides on-call services as scheduled by the Program Director.
  • Actively participates in clinical team and staff meetings.
  • Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with employees, families, schools, individuals, and the public.  Provides clinical counseling in community settings, when applicable.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as needed and/or outlined by the Program Director.  Works families and children in various community settings.
  • Chariots Mental Health Professionals work as part of a team supported by treatment and clinical support staff members.  Directs care worker with the child, Community Residential Rehabilitation (CRR) Host home, and legal families.
  • Shares in the 24 hour crisis assessments.
  • Supervises the program team and work with community services.
  • Provides ongoing clinical support (therapy) and supervision for the child, CRR Host Home (HH) family, and the legal family, providing individual, group, and family counseling.
  • Develops the individualized residential service plan (IRSP) with assistance and input from members of the treatment and clinical support team.
  • Provides clinical supervision of CRR-HH providers.
  • Leads program team member responsible for transitioning and supporting the child during the discharge and follow-up periods.
  • Keeps accurate daily record, dispense information to the community under the direction of the Program Director.


  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in a child and adolescent service system program (CASSP).
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet individual's and program's needs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, and/or transport individual to appointments.
  • Must have the ability to obtain clearances as defined by regulations.
