Community Services Group (CSG), one of the largest human service providers in PA, is recruiting for a Group Activity Therapist / Mental Health Liaison for our Partial Hospitalization Program and Outpatient Treatment Services in Williamsport, PA.  

We are looking for a caring and compassionate person to join our Mental Health (MH) Treatment Services for Adults, Children and Youth Team and enjoy a rewarding career helping to improve the lives of others.   

This is a full-time position (40 hrs/wk) with Monday to Friday hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. To be considered you must be able to work flexible hours to meet individual's and program's needs. A complete Medical Insurance and Benefits Package is available for those who qualify!   

The Group Activity Therapist / Mental Health Liaison will work at both of the programs as needed.  

The Group Activity Therapist is an active member of the multi-disciplinary team at the Partial Hospitalization Program.  The primary responsibility of the Group Activity Therapist is to assist and support individuals in achieving their optimal level of functioning. 

The Mental Health Liaison is responsible for providing therapeutic services to individuals and their families at our Outpatient Treatment Services. The Mental Health Liaison participates actively in all relevant team, supervision, and general staff meetings, to enhance the services of Community Services Group.

Core Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

Group Activity Therapist: 

  • Provides case administration to an assigned caseload.
  • Facilitates group process and activity within the program.
  • Contributes to the multi-disciplinary treatment team process.
  • Performs clinical assessments and develops/implements treatment plans.
  • Completes quality documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Communicates relevant information regarding individuals to family and appropriate agencies.
  • Participates in the daily operations of the program.
  • Shares in the ongoing assessment of the individual's progress.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides coverage in emergency situations.
  • Engages in daily interaction and communication with program participants.

Mental Health Liaison: 

  • Provides treatment services to individuals and families including treatment planning, care coordination, and education.Works closely with other mental health specialists, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, case managers, psychiatric nurses, school counselors, and behavioral health providers.
  • Provides therapeutic services in accordance with standards applicable to mental health professionals.
  • Provide individual, family and/or group therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families
  • Adheres to and upholds the ethical standards of the profession.
  • Documents work in accordance with company standards in the areas of progress notes, treatment plans, discharge procedures, and other consumer related activities.
  • Participates in education and other activities necessary to maintain competency in clinical work.
  • Actively participates in clinical team and staff meetings.
  • Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with employees, families, schools, individuals, and the public.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as needed and/or outlined by the Program Director.

Minimum Education, Credentials, and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in human services or related field and prior working experience in mental illness and/or mental retardation / intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

Special Requirements: 

  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet individual's and program's needs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, and/or transport individual to appointments.
  • Must have the ability to obtain clearances as defined by regulations.
