Community Services Group (CSG) is recruiting for a Driver who has experience as a Cook for our Adult Mental Health Enhanced Personal Care Home (EPCH) in Atlas, PA.

This full-time position (40 hrs/wk) will be responsible for transporting and/or aiding in the transporting of individuals to appointments and programs.  It will also be responsible for food service work in the performance of specialized cooking tasks on a part-time basis.

Driver - Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides transportation services among company programs and mental health and/or mental retardation/intellectual and developmental disability diagnoses offices.
  • Assists in developing transportation schedule.
  • Transports individuals to appointments.
  • Assists individuals in and out of vehicles.
  • Follows safety procedures at all times during vehicle operation.
  • Performs an established monthly maintenance vehicle check to ensure that the vehicle is kept clean and in safe condition.
  • Schedules vehicle for routine state inspection and maintenance checks as needed.
  • Completes daily mileage log and other required forms accurately and within allotted time frame.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Cook - Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with all staff regarding resident dietary needs/issues.
  • Assists with development of monthly menus.
  • Assists with development of food order and supplies.
  • Maintains, updates recipe files, and revises recipes for quality and quantity of food.
  • Operates kitchen equipment such as ovens, broilers, fryers, and mixers used in the production of menu items.
  • Ensures that all residents are offered a balanced meal following their individual needs, which may include the preparing and cooking for special/modified diets.
  • Prepares ingredients and cooks meats, vegetables, casseroles, soups, and sauces according to lunch and dinner menu.
  • Reviews census and menu data, adjusts recipes accordingly, and recycle leftover food into useable food products to reduce waste.
  • Ensure dining area is set-up prior to meals being served.
  • Cleans floors, work surfaces, and other work areas in the production area.
  • Washes and cleans cooking utensils and equipment.
  • Sanitizes the kitchen and dining areas after each meal.
  • Insures that kitchen equipment is maintained and prepares work orders for maintenance and repairs.
  • Follows all Department of Health food regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials and Experience:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and 2 years of driving experience.
  • Experience as a cook in food preparation operation; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet individual's and program's needs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, and/or transport individual to appointments.
  • Must be able to drive passenger vans and accompany individuals into the community and provide support and assistance in interactions in the community while maintaining sensitivity to the rights and dignity of the individual.
  • Must have the ability to obtain clearances as defined by regulations.
