Community Services Group (CSG) is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Adoption and Permanency Specialist for our Adoption and Permanency Program in Dauphin County.  

The Adoption and Permanency Specialist needs to be motivated, highly organized, and have a strong commitment to work with children and families.  This position's scope of responsibilities include all units of service referred through the Pennsylvania Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN) and possible private adoption home studies.  The Adoption and Permanency Specialist is vital to providing ongoing support and services to children and families, establish and maintain professional and supportive relationships with youth, resource families, birth families, referring personnel, treatment providers and others involved in the lives of children and youth, and. assist families through the adoption process.  The position also requires the ability to be proactive, organized, flexible, diligent, responsible and creative. 

The Adoption and Permanency Specialist is a full-time position (40 hrs/wk) with Monday to Friday hours from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.  This schedule will vary based on the needs of the individuals and program.  This position starts at $16.00/hour. It will be based out of our Harrisburg office and covers cases in Dauphin and surrounding counties as needed.  A complete Medical Insurance and Benefits Package is available for those who qualify!  Company vehicle and/or travel compensation provided for work related travel.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with three (3) years of experience in social services or child welfare OR a Master's degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience in social services or child welfare.  Experience with SWAN services is helpful.
  • Must be able to work independently in the community with support from the supervisor.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet individual's and program's needs. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, and/or transport individual to appointments.
  • Must be able to travel to trainings/meetings upon request of program director.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain clearances as defined by regulations.
