Community Services Group (CSG) is recruiting for a Mentor in Lancaster, PA.  This position will be responsible for training newly hired or transferring staff at our Adult Mental Health (MH) and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD/ASD) Programs.  

The Mentor will ensure that new or transferring staff will receive support, training, and education necessary for successful employment.  The Mentor will demonstrate and role model the mission and core values of CSG. 

It is a full-time position that will require frequent travel to CSG locations in Lancaster, Dauphin, York and Adams Counties with occasional travel to other counties as needed.  It offers a complete Medical Insurance, for those who qualify, and Benefits Package including Travel Reimbursement! 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedules, trains and supports newly hired and transferred DSPs and DSSs on foundational knowledge about the job responsibilities.
  • Provides learning support based upon 30/60/90 day performance reviews.
  • Provides and coordinates specific program training including knowledge about Individuals served and facility teams.
  • Provides training to staff after the initial evaluation/introductory period as requested.
  • Facilitates communications between employee and supervisor.
  • Trains the supervisors or designees on continuing development and growth process throughout the initial evaluation /introductory period and after introductory period has been completed.
  • Coordinates tracking and notifications to supervisors, on-call staff and others as needed regarding the new employees training.
  • Conducts follow up interviews with employees.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by utilizing a variety of training methods to meet employee's learning needs and works a non-traditional schedule to accommodate the new hires work schedule.
  • Assists in the tracking of metrics and participates in staff development assessments.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Must have one of the following:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year working experience in the behavioral health area; OR
  • A High School Diploma or equivalency and 3 years working experience in a behavioral health area; OR
  • A candidate in a residential leadership position would also be considered.

Must have all of the following:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet individual's and program's needs which may include various shifts, and evenings and weekends.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Must have the ability to obtain clearances as defined by regulations.
