Community Services Group (CSG) is recruiting for a Group Activity Therapist (GAT) for our Adult Mental Health Treatment Services Partial Hospital Program in Lancaster, PA.

The Group Activity Therapist is an active member of the multi-disciplinary team.  The primary responsibility of the Group Activity Therapist is to assist and support individuals in achieving their optimal level of functioning.

This position offers:

  • Part-Time (25 hrs/wk) hours - Monday to Friday - 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides case administration to an assigned caseload.
  • Facilitates group process and activity within the program.
  • Contributes to the multi-disciplinary treatment team process.
  • Performs clinical assessments and develops/implements treatment plans.
  • Completes quality documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Communicates relevant information regarding individuals to family and appropriate agencies.
  • Participates in the daily operations of the program.
  • Shares in the ongoing assessment of the individual's progress.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides coverage in emergency situations.
  • Engages in daily interaction and communication with program participants.

Minimum Education, Credentials, and Experience:

Must have one of the following:

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in human services or related field and prior working experience in mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities; OR
  • A licensed practical nurse with 2 years working experience in mental illness and/or mental retardation/ intellectual and developmental disabilities settings.

Those with a master's degree in human services or related field are encourage to apply.  A master's degree is not required to be considered.

Must have all of the following:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet individual's and program's needs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, and/or transport individual to appointments.
  • Must be able to travel to trainings/meetings upon request of program director.
  • Must have the ability to obtain clearances as defined by regulations.
